Found 2 of the first historical minis I ever painted, 15-16 years ago. I had bought a box of plastic Colonial British to use for a steam punk project idea. About a year later I repainted most of them to look like a Lancashier Fusiliers from WW1 in the middle east. Sadly these are all that remain. However I shall keep them always as a reminder of my humble beginnings.
I finally finished the force from the Valley of the Wind, lead by Princess Nausicaa herself. They were assembled with Fireforge Games bodies; Arms, Guns, Swords, and Shields from Wargames Atlantic Afghans; Heads from Parry Miniatures 100 year war range; and pouches from Warlord Games WW2 Germans and US Marines. The beards of the men and Nausicaa's hair where all done with green stuff. The fox came from a Japanese model of the robots from Castle in the Sky.
Felt like changing up what I was working on so painted 3 of the British Vosper Motor Torpedo Boats Type 2 that come in the starter box. I have painted very few vehicles in my 20 years of wargaming and tried some new weathering techniques on these. I think they came out well.
I finally received an order from Brigade Games today.
Half the order consists of 40 WW1 Russian Infantry and 4 officers. This will about double the size of my Russian force. I also recently got in a box of WW1 Germans from Wargames Atlantic which will make 30 Germans infantry. I think that will about complete my WW1 Eastern front collection once painted up.
The second half of the order was a batch of Sci-fi desert soldiers that should work great for my Valley of the Wind Project. Unfortunately the miniatures have been removed from the Brigade Games web store after my order. In an email they said they had a lot of difficulty in getting good casts from the molds due to their age (resulting in delays to my order). I am very happy with the ones I got but still not sure which faction I'll use them for.
