3D printed islands and Pirates game

I'm finally getting consistently acceptable prints. Printed 4 islands I found on Thinggivers for free and painted them up. Very happy with end products. Also used them in a club game of Pirates by Wizkidz Games.

Here are some shots from the game. Despite the games name, our's featured 2 squadrons of English and French ships.

Here are some of the original islands that came with the game. They still work fine but its nice to have something a bit nicer to look at.

French & Indian War

Some of the guys from the club put together a French & Indian War game together using the Tomahawk and Muskets rules. This is a game and period I had never played but was interested in giving a go. The rules are simple and easy to pick up and actions are card driven. As a rule I generally avoid card driven games but found it worked quite well. Not saying I'm going to switch over for all my games but will likely be getting a copy of the rules for myself (will do a proper rules review then).
The game we played involved a force of French and Canadians supported by a large host of allied Indians descending on a British village and farmstead with the intention of killing the inhabitants and putting it to the torch. The village was defended by British Regulars, Providentials, Militate, and a few allied Indians.
The French did manage to set light to the farmstead and nearly took the village but where turned and destroyed by some brave soldiers and well timed reinforcements.

Pirates! Arrrrrrg

Anyone remember the constructible card game Pirates by Wizkid that came out in 2004? They came in foil packs like any other collectible card game except that some of the cards punched out and could be assembled to create sailing ships. I happened to have a tackle box in my closet back home with a large British fleet and a large Spanish fleet so I had my folks ship it over to me. Hoping I can revitalize the game a bit as the rules are very simple and offer fast and fun play.
